Psychiatric Evaluation

A full psychiatric evaluation will be completed during your first appointment, for those 18+ this evaluation will generally be 60 minutes and for those ages 6-17 the evaluation will generally be 90 minutes. The estimated cost for the Psychiatric Diagnostic Assessment: $300-$380 for 60-90 minutes. The nurse practitioner will determine the type and length of each visit. This determination will be based on the number and complexity of your needs, services provided during the visit, time spent on case consultation and care coordination, and your insurance company's requirements; therapy add-on and complexity codes may be added. An integrative and collaborative approach is used to support patient care. During this evaluation, you will be asked about your current mental health state, mental health history, including past diagnoses and medication history. All of this information is integral in developing the most appropriate treatment plan. If possible, please email or fax us any medical records that may be useful (i.e. medication record, therapy notes, medical records, etc.).

Psychiatric Medication Management With Brief Psychotherapy

Psychiatric medication management with brief psychotherapy is the process of working with your psychiatric nurse practitioner to ensure that your psychiatric medications are effective and safe. This may include changing doses, switching medications, or adding new drugs. It is essential to have regular Psychiatric Medication Management appointments because mental health conditions can change over time. Medications that were once effective may become less so or may cause new side effects.

Each psychiatric medication management appointment will be 30-60 minutes Psychiatric Medication Management: estimated cost ranges from $150-$325 based on service provided and complexity, the nurse practitioner will determine the type and length of each visit. This determination will be based on the number and complexity of your needs, services provided during the visit, time spent on case consultation and care coordination, and your insurance company's requirements; therapy add-on and complexity codes may be added. During this visit your psychiatric nurse practitioner will ask about your symptoms, how your medications are working, and any side effects you may be experiencing. They will then make recommendations about changes to your mental health medication list.

At the beginning of your treatment multiple medication management sessions may be required so that  changes can be made. This process can be frustrating, but it is important to remember that every person’s experience with mental illness and medication is unique.

If you have any questions or concerns about your medication, bring them up at your next Psychiatric Medication Management appointment.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adults.

What if I think I may have ADHD?

An East Central Behavioral Health psychiatric nurse practitioner will perform an initial diagnostic assessment, if it is likely that you have ADHD it will be recommended that you have computer basted ADHD testing completed to verify a diagnosis. We offer an FDA cleared computerized test known as QBCheck, we currently only offer this service self-pay (not covered by insurance) for a price of $300, the second option is for you to locate an ADHD testing center and provide us with your test results once you’ve completed the test. Once we receive your scores, results will be interpreted, and a best plan of treatment created and tailored to your symptoms. Please call us if you’d like to schedule computerized ADHD testing.

What if I've already been diagnosed with ADHD?

Please provide us with a copy of your previous neuropsychiatric testing. This information can be requested from your previous testing center. If you have not received computer-based testing, you will be required to go through the same process as a new patient listed above.

Child/Adolescent Well-Being, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum & More!

Childhood and adolescence is a time of rapid physical, emotional, and intellectual growth and development. It is a period when self-concept, the drive for self-actualization, and peer and media influences can collide with changes in body chemistry igniting mood and behavioral dysregulation. Previously undiagnosed ADHD and genetic disorders and dispositions can also add confusion to the mix. In many cases our providers may recommend your child be treated with therapy prior to trialing medications.
